After being told it would cost me $150 to repair my 6month old 80GB, I'm getting my brand new Slim and it only cost me $200

I'm not sure I'd get mine fixed for $150 if it broke now. It did happen like a year and a half ago, though. 60gb release PS3 :wtc:

That's the price Sony gave me. It was only 6mos old but without a receipt they wouldn't cover it under warranty.

The manufacturer's date printed on the PS3 was less than a year, and that still wasn't enough :ugh:

But PS3s weren't as cheap as they are now. It'd be nice if they did a price drop on the repair.

I have one of the hw bc models so I'd pony up. Otherwise, though, no reason to do that.

Worth every penny as long as you don't have to play on a 360

I hope my original 80GB doesn't die. I really hate that Sony has dropped backward compatibility in the newer consoles.

Same reason I'm afraid of my 80GB PS3 dying. I still have my PS2 but doing all my gaming on one console is just much more convenient. Plus wireless DS3 > DS2.
