Finally went through the majority of my Europe photos and all my other photos to compile what I think are some of my best images.

Take a look, let me know what you think about the images and the site design.

Before viewing anything, I'll say this:

-The logo on the main page looks like it's out of place. Have it lined up with the right aligned portfolio square, right now it looks like it's just floating off on its own

-Too many portfolio pages.. Plants/Animals = Nature or something, Two travel sections is kinda goofy

I agree. Maybe a play/pause button so they would scroll on their own, or a mouse over arrow that will move them. It isn't so much the horizontal scrolling that bothers me its having to drag the little bar. I'd much rather just spin the mouse wheel.

Pretty good. Lose the flowers section IMO.

I don't like the background [color] change from your splash page to the rest of your site.

You start off with the white background with a gray/red color scheme, then switch to a light gray with a gray/red color scheme.

    I would recommend consistency.

    just my .02

    /edit

This is also an issue with your smugmug albums, they are a different color scheme as well. Why the switch in colors? Why not be consistent in all aspects of your site, from first initial page, to the last page.

Looks awesome. Very professional. I agree on the horizontal scroll bar. Either get rid of it, or change up the colors and stuff.

don't need a mac to do that... laptops had that forever, just have to slide the bottom of the touchpad.. with one finger;)
and with a decent mouse, the trackball can scroll side to side... just push it sideways

and to the OP, I think there might be a little too many pictures in the portfolio, esp. in the wedding sections.

On your internat'l travel page, you've got 11ty photos of Paris, Cornwall, Rome, and Florence, and then a few random shots of Austria, Germany, Prague, and the Bahamas. Either drop those few, or include more of them to make it a homogeneous mix.

I don't mind the side scrolling, but perhaps tweak the implementation of it a bit. I agree with all above about the consistency in the look/scheme of your site from page to page.

    very good

but as a professional photographer, should you not focus on just one type of photography?

thanks all for the comments. I appreciate the feedback.

    for specific questions:

good call, will fix the splash page. I like having the different sections for now. I might change it in the future though :bigok:

I don't know how to implement something like that but I love the idea of automatic scrolling. I'll see if I can figure it out soon. :bigok:

just curious, why? do you think they aren't good images? a LOT of people seem to like them. I'm not a huge fan of floral shots, but there were so many in oxford I couldn't resist.

Will fix this soon as well. thanks :bigok:

ok, maybe I'll narrow it down a bit

I don't see why it matters where the images are from? what if I've only been to brussels for 1 day and only got 1 shot, but spent a week in florence so I have more there? I don't see why it matters. but oh well.

I'm not a professional, nor do I have any plans of becoming one. it is just a hobby. i'll graduate in may and will be working full time elsewhere.

I don't mind doing paid jobs on the side for some $$, but those are generally weddings/portraits/events

I much prefer shooting sports and landscapes, so that's what I'd rather display.
