The alloy on my wheels is flaking off. Around the spokes there is a lot of discoloration and stuff. It's going to cost a couple hundred bucks that I don't have to fix them. I'm so sad :(

Are there any products that can help make the blemishes less noticable? I'm so upset!

Don't you mean the clear coat is flaking off? If so, then use a scotchbrite or something similar to completely remove the rest of the clear coat, then use a metal polish to shine them back up. The wheels will be higher maintenance once the clear coat is all gone, but nothing too bad.

If the aluminum is actually flaking off, then you are SOL.

Yeah I meant the coat. I think its from salt and dirt hitting the rim. What do you mean when you say "higher maintenence"? Will I have to redo the rims every once and a while? And how long do you think it would take for me to do it?

If you strip the clear coating, you will have to use a mag wheel or metal polish on them (depending on the type of wheels you have). If you have painted portions, you can use a cleaner wax on them. Probably about 10 minutes per wheel per month.

Sweet, thanks. How long do you think the initial stripping and polishing would take? Here is a picture of my wheel (16")
