Kept it under my bed for a couple months and now i find rust on it. Does it just come off or is it something more terminal. :wtc:

    the win.

it'll leave a little white spot if it's down to the metal but will clean off. What to do with the white spot is up to you, I've seen bluing touch up stuff but something tells me you're better off with bare metal :)

It's probably just surface rust. Use a rag and some oil and it should come off, don't use steel wool. That bluing touch up stuff works pretty good. Better than bare metal.

even on surface rust I'd hit it with a bit of steel wool, you want to get it all off, shouldn't scratch the blueing if it's oiled.
I've seen people use black magic markers for bluing touch up  so maybe the touch up stuff isn't too bad, like I said, I've never used it.
