i'm sure it's been done numerous times...i dont care. i dig the concept of "i got luck on my side". with that said, the girl was derived from a Gil Elvgrin piece i found, but I wanted the artist to put his flare into it and do whatever he needed to her general pose to make the idea work. for clarification, my favorite "lucky number" is 7. i went with the 5 and 2 as back when i was a kid and played sports, i was always number 5 (go figure), clearly a 2 is needed. we went with the traditional "lucky" 13 in the horseshoe, she's holding a rabbits foot, the 4 aces is obvious, and the girl has a small sleeve that resembles my girlfriends sleeve. that was really my only request on the piece. the rest was left up to him, and i feel he pulled through with an awesome result. Done by Matt @ House of Tattoo, Tacoma, WA, 3 sittings (outline, shading/bathing suit/cards, the rest), this picture is after my touchup last friday, so there are still a little fresh areas. C&C welcome.
