I went to Ripley's Aquarium and there was an awesome spot where I was standing under the water with a window above me. I just took a picture when 2 sting rays swam across.

This is straight out of my camera. No Photoshop at all. Completely raw.

My camera specs - Sony Cybershot DSC - H1 with 12x optional zoom, factory lens

Pretty sick photo man. I'd crop out that dark stripe at the top though.

Thanks, I can fix it up, of course since there's nothing illegal about it.

It has a lot of potential for sure so thanks for the advice. I'll play around with it. I think the colors should stay because greyscale would eliminate the most impressive aspect of the photography, I believe.

First picture is great. It feels great to get lucky. Amazing how things can look so different to a camera than your eye.

I agree. I'm not an experienced photographer at all, but I love taking pictures as a hobby.

If only I could get lucky for every shot I take, I can only imagine how much beautiful the world would be.

Here's my retouched version of the first picture, along with a frame. I think it looks more colorful.

Horribly fast MS paint chop but here ya go.

It appears to be the frame of the glass or something (the black line). If the entire picture is filled up like the one I just cropped, it looks 11ty times better.

Haha, what about the colors? I turned up the contrast to give the blue a much deeper emotional look.

I don't like it with the contrast cranked up. Maybe play with the blue level. In your revised pic it darkens out the tail (is that the proper term for a sting ray?) on the sting ray to the right.

    I'll try that.

Do I need to avoid the contrast level? Maybe just a little without destoying the visual of the tails?

Here's the second version of the post-processing on the first image. Any criticisms?

Ripley's is awesome. I really like that stingray picture. I always have problems with the glass reflecting, and showing up in my photos.

I actually touched a stingray in the petting pool. After I touched it, I cracked a joke of how I couldn't understand that Steve Irwin got killed by them. :o

    People were like...:wtc:
