My parents told me today they would pay for an MCSE degree.

Mother said to look for a school where I could go to classes toward achieving an MCSE degree.

I've read the sticky on this and there's a Network+ cert that is recommended before getting MCSE. I've also heard of people getting this degree in HS by just studying for it. Don't really know what to expect. I'm not clueless when it comes to computers. Best way to describe my level of expertise is to say I'm 'learning'.

Does anyone know of any schools that offer classes for this degree? Any thoughts or words of wisdom for me?

I'd recommend A+ and Network+ since you say you are still learning.

I went to an MCSE bootcamp about 5 years back, but I wouldn't recommend it. 2 weeks straight of 12-ish hours days plus the tests.

I was in a group of about 30 people where less than 10 successfully got their MCSE. I made it to MCSA. I still have 2 tests left for MCSE, but haven't had the time.

Good luck, I'm sure there are plenty of places that offer classes. We have a local New Horizons place http://www.newhorizons.com/content/index.aspx that offers the classes.

MCSE is a cert, not a degree.

    dont bother taking any courses

    study, to simulated exams, etc..

no study program is worth the money to get the certificate.

fyi, its not a degree, its a cert

might as well get server+ and maybe security+ while your at it. you should have to take any classes, a lot of people just buy a cram guide

although, don't expect the businesses to be calling next day. lots of places could care less about A+ certs. they are usually looking for someone cheap that has experience and a 4 year degree
