...actually, it doesn't look like it was ever really fixed.

Background: Bought a very lightly used P22 from a friend. Took it to the range that day and put about 200 rounds through it and the hammer spring broke. My friend mailed it back to Smith and Wesson (they do Walther's repair work) and I got it back about 2 weeks later.

So, I took it to the range again on Saturday and ugh... about every other round, the safety engages. The guy at the range says the spring is probably still fucked up. It would seem that they didn't even really test it, because it was doing it right from the start. So... back to S&W/Walther it goes...

:sad2: Glad I didn't buy a P22. Hope they make it right for you though.

I had that same problem with mine, though the solution was as easy as tightening the safety bolt/thingie. Give that a try.

    Finally, sell it.

I'm on the West Side now foo!

I'm going to try to tighten the bolt, and hopefully that fixes it and I'll give you a ring.

that sounds a lot like what was happening with my p22, the safety would engage after a couple rounds. for me it was a new p22 and it turned out to be an ammo problem. it hasn't really liked any of the 550 round boxes i've bought and i think that problem was showing up with a remington box. with cci ammo it has fired thousands for rounds flawlessly. it even shoots subsonics fine but for some reason i haven't found any 500 round boxes that it likes
