My nutrition course is fucking with me. HARDCORE

    Just got done with the protein chapter and it says that people that lift weights should consume 1.9g of protein per kilogram of body weight. Also it says the daily % of total protein intake should only be 18%. :wtf:

    I'm so confused now :hs:

    more than 18 percent would be huge!
    18% of a 2500 calorie diet is 450g of protein a day...

    what's your question? Generally things you learn about nutrition from a textbook are going to be on the conservative side. 1.9g/kg is around .9g / lb.

    Newsflash: nutrition courses are meant to be conservative and just optimized for general health. Nothing specific to anyone who lifts/works out/whatever.

    But most people here and other people that know that lift consume like 300g of protein a day :o

    we had some nutritional quiz day thing, and i got like the first 10 questions right (they were like "what is the suggested number of steps in a day for a healthy adult" and i said like 10k). they had one question that was like


    "how much physical activity each day should the average person have?" and i asked what they meant by physical activity, if just walking around and such was physical and they said yes. so i said like 8 hours at least. and they told me it was like 35 minutes. i was argued with the douchbag.

    I find it almost impossible to get over 200g of protein a day :hs:

    The only way I would be able to do it is to eat like 8 scoops of whey minimum per day.
