How do I fix it?
go to a doctor
salt water soaks 2x a day for 30 mins for 2 weeks
wash it regularly with something like epsom salt.. 3 X a day, let it air dry. use TP or something to clean off all the gunk that comes out of it, but make sure you dont leave any on the piercing.
i used a disinfectant/antibacterial handwash by dettol to wash mine when i first got it done.. and it worked a treat. no infection, no healing issues. its in a green bottle with a pump top.. give that a try.
I dont recommend Epsom salt at all. And while im totally glad that ronin11's peircing did great with the antibacterial soap as he used it, for the average person it will be much too drying and harsh. Keep up with the sea salt soaks diligently, (i would go about 2 to 3 times daily when theyre in an irritated state like yours are currently.) and resist the urge to touch them with your fingers to clean off the excess debris and discharge, rather using a clean q tip or running your shower water over them gently to loosen it.
Try not to get too frustrated. Im in the same situation you are..2 years out and still having the occasional freak out with my nipples. Its normal and in some cases, your nipples never totally heal until about a year to 2 years out. In my case, where they were naturally inverted, Im looking at a period of 2 to 2. 5 years until i am 100% problem free. Just take good care..and always remember your sea salt.
you need this
I took mine out because it wouldn't loose the pus after 12 months but I blamed it on cheap jewellry. What's your's like?
It's just swollen and crusty where the ring enters. I haven't been having much trouble with puss or bleeding lately. I think maybe the infection is starting to heal.
good to hear its starting to heal remember sea salt sokes will help a ton
personally id advise against that
as fucked up as it may seem, a lot of doctors dont know shit about piercing(s)
my cartilage (side/top of ear) piercing is a little infected. what should i do?
salt water soak 2x/day, bactine on a q-tip also...DONT TOUCH IT
Sea salt soaks will cure all that ail you.
how do i do sea salts on cartilage?
same problem here. I'm going on over a year and I stil get pus build up.
might be the jewelry. maybe I should look into getting something different.
Same as you would on any piercings. Obviously, that doesnt mean dipping the side of your head into a bowl of water...just take a q tip soaked with the salt water solution and drip it on your piercing, clean the excess debris gently with the moistened tip.
i soaked the side of my head in a bowl
I don't doubt that one bit, dear. lol..Not even for a second.
Ha, as long as we're being honest about dipping, I did that with my nipples. Filled two cups with salt water, carefully and quickly pressed them against my boobs and ..shook..lol. It was entertaining for the boyfriend to watch anyway.
i was doind exactly the same thing.. of course.. 1) im male 2) i only did one side at a time
what was funny was watching my folks stare at me as i kept pissing off with the glassware.. they didnt know i had the piercings done and i wanted it covered up for a while at least hahaha.
don't get it peirced in teh first place
Hey thats great advice for someone in the body mods forum..
I've been taking a saline mixture and putting it in a plastic dixie cup. I'll put the cup up against my breast and lay down for awhile. I wonder if it's okay to save the saline for more than one use. I'm going through my aerosol can pretty fast .
No no honey. Dont reuse. Its unsanitary and really, defeats the purpose of soaking altogether. If youre looking to save money, contact solution (the saline only kind, dont get the kind with cleaner in it) is a good substitute as well. You can buy large bottles of this for quite cheap.
why would you buy it...
salt + boiled water = the same thing
That is certainly an option, yes..albeit a bit time consuming.
