2005 Lotus Elise with touring pack, star shield, stage 2 exhaust and upgraded speakers. Picked it up in Denver on Thursday and drove home to OC. It's an absolute blast to drive.

    Thanks.

I think driving this car might just be the most fun I've ever had with my pants on. On the drive home from Denver, as I was getting in to Vegas, I realized my cheeks were litteraly sore from grinning for 10 straight hours.

Didn't trad anything in on it, but I'm going to sell the M3 to help rationalize the purchase.

    Thanks.

I autocrossed it this weekend with the PCA. It was too much fun. I've never done an AutoX or any track time, but with a lot of help from the car, managed to post the 5th best time of the day. (2nd best time on street tires). It was so much fun, I'm now thinking I need to get the sport pack rims and tires for track days.

I was happy with them, but I'd like to try the AO48s from the sport pack to see how they grip. Once I got a feel for the car it was pretty easy to feather the throttle to get just a bit of oversteer on the exits. Only got the car sideway once, and I probably could have gotten it back but would have had to sacrifice a lot of cones to do so.

Excellent. Advan tires are amazing for grip. You should check out the A032R's as well. Soft compound would be perfect for an AutoX course.

I just can't get over the fact that it has what, like only 190 HP... :eek2: ....whatever, I see a bunch of them in Miami as Prestige Imports is the #1 Italian Exotic dealer in the world, and I saw one competely enthralled in flames on I-95 last week, which was pretty fucking cool (assuming the person survived).

190hp is plenty when a car weighsl less then 2000lbs. I don't understand why the "#1 Italian Exotic dealer in the world" would be selling a British car.

Oh, and I have never seen a car "enthralled in flames." Engulfed maybe, not enthralled.

To top everything the Elise has, it has Toyota reliability, so you can DRIVE it as you please.

Only 190 hp, but it's my fastest car. Kicks the crap out of my S4 with the 340 hp V8 in it.

We did a track day back in November with a bunch of other Elises. The track had just been sealed, which led to a bunch of crap gunking on the tires, which ultimately led to 1 guy's Elise burning to a puddle of molten goo. It was pretty freaky to see.

How did it catch fire? Gunk getting on the exhaust? Is it true that they glue the chassis together...or something like that? They are pretty fast cars, remind me of original 911's with their minimalist interiors. They really do provide exactly what you need and don't bother you with more. I would get one for track duty anyday.
