Never owned a new bike before, so I figured I was due. I looked at all the different bikes and sat on all of them. I was all set to buy the 08 SV650SF but something kept calling me back to the naked.

I've spent a year on a Ninja 250/XS400 so spare me the 'shouldn't have bought a new bike' hate.

I paid MSRP (5999) out the door, including all fees/taxes/all that shit.

Only put 50 miles on it so far, but man, I'm thrilled.

Bert's Megal Mall in Azusa. They will match OTD Cycle Sport's quotes, and usually those are within $100 or so of MSRP.

As far as mods - I need to eliminate the fender, get sliders, and after a few hundred miles PCIII and exhaust.

I might be parting my SV out... if so, interested in a lightly used full akra and PCIII that needs a new cable? It's um... fucking loud, but sounds awesome.

    also, YGPM in a minute

Bert's told me they will match any legit dealer's price, and so far they've matched OTD 3 times between my friends and I.

    :rly: :eek3:

Could you find out what he can get for this part number...

    425-3001

It should be for a resleeve for the Akrapovic can. Currently have a carbon fiber can and it has deteriorated. Also, the inlet pipe is dinged pretty good, if he can get a price on that also :x:

BTW, there are a few of us SoCal ppl on this board that ride together (2 of us have SVs) :eek3:

I'd do the full set, but mostly for the spools on the swingarm ones - spool stands are awesome.

Just make sure you get the sliders that attach to the bolt that runs through the full frame

    svrider.com is a great site.

I ordered the full set of motosliders last night. I need to hurry up and put some miles on it so I can put exhaust on, the stock can is pointlessly huge.

Would recommend www.socalsvriders.org, but that site just recently took a dump... was full of great info :sad2: Long story short they were hosting the site from an UCSD server and I believe they caught on to it.

Been replaced by http://www.socalsv.org/ , which most of the former users went to now... but has yet to catch up to the info that was archived in the former site :hs:

The mirrors work amazingly. I can actually see the whole freeway now instead of my shoulder and one lane. This is the plate bracket I have:

It mounts to the passenger pegs.

    Painted mine black:
