can you guys tell me what year it is?

this is what i know so far:
russain civialian model. from IMEZ. um matte black finish? what does a "blued" finish mean?

when i shake the mak, i can hear the firing pin.. is that normal? i can just bearly move the slider side to side (how tight are tolorances supose to be?) the trigger can also move side to side a bit. all normal? this is my first fire arm period. the mag that it came with is a little "shincky" (makes that noise when moving the ramp up and down).

what else can you guys tell me about it? cost me $170 out the door at a local shop. thanks

    discuss, opinions, thoughts, flames? :)

I've only heard good things about the Makarov.

Blueing as far as I understand it, is just the way the metal is finished. Its suppose to protect the metal.

How is a trigger pull? Range report?

just got back from the range!!!!!! ran 50 rounds through the makarov (only one magazine too hehe) it was my first time firing any kind of fire arm in my life. I think i did pretty well, and the to the best of my knowledge, the gun if very nice! even though i'm very unexperienced, from ~30 feet away, my shots are very well grouped (like the size of two fists about with some outliners every so offten). recoil is "snappy". trigger pull is okay, didn't require too much effort or anything. was pretty smooth acaully. i do really work on my form. i can hit the bulls eye from 30 feet okay. i'm stiff and still very shaky and the other guns going off in the back ground still make me jumpy.

my first round was soooo scray, i had no idea what to expect cause i never shot a gun before. and it was louder than i expected too. adreneline was pumping almost the whole time. at this point i could never even imagin trying to shoot another animal or person or being in a battle type situation. i'm way too wussy at this point.

first mod will be a new grip! my cousin has a mak with makawrap that i will try out. i'm lovin my makarov!

www.makarov.com is very cool and informative!
