well, i just got a couple new toys, and will be getting many more in the mail soon.

first came my tango down foreward grip. allsome. this thing is solid as a rock, and the recess is perfect for a surefire tapeswitch. as soon as i get some extry batt'ries, i'm putting them inside the grip. i secured the switch with innertube, like i had on my AAC grip, instead of adhesive or velcro. i prefer the streamlined nature of having it completely covered like that.

then came my Hatch Nomex balaclava, in sage green. i ordered it from midwest tactical. excellent place with which to do bidness. prompt delivery and no hangups whatsoever with the order. lightfighter is generally the place to go for tactical gear when they've got it in stock, but if you know in advance that they don't, midwest tactical stocks much of the same items (even lightfighter signature gear, like the RAID pack), and is only a couple bucks more expensive. they also stock things that lightfighter doesn't have or doesn't list (like my balaclava). they do only take paypal, check and money order, though. (credit card through paypal).

anyways, the other stuff, i ordered from lightfighter, and my rig will hopefully be ready to go by spring break, when i plan on doing either ranch rescue or work with some similar organization.

    my planned rig:

    Point Blank Interceptor OTV
    (2) Special Operations Equipment CQB magpouches, center-high on the vest
    (2) SOE CQB pouches, one on each side, low-wide on the vest
    Eagle H-harness
    (2) SOE Patrol magpouches
    (2) Tactical Tailor large utility pouches (for canteens, or whatever i need to use them for
    (1) Gore-tex, fastex-closed USGI buttpack
    (1) TT Malice III ruck
    (1) Camelbak Mule, woodland cammo

this way, i can ditch the pack, and have all my necessary items. if i want to ditch more weight, i can either ditch the vest or the harness, and take the camelbak if i'm taking the vest. my medical kit (which i'm still deciding on the contents of) will go in the left BDU trouser cargo pocket.

most of this stuff is coming from lightfighter, with the exception of the buttpack, which i can get at a gunshow, and the malice clips for the magpouches, which i ordered from tactical tailor, and the mule, which i can get on ebay.

i'm not really a fan of chest rigs unless you're doing swat work or something. in which case, having ammo and first aid is about the only thing you'll need. you won't need a butt pack or water, in most cases.

my gear is oriented toward SHTF and flesh-eating zombies.

You'll like them, foot. i was honestly worried at first that the palm would tear from the kevlar body easily, but they've been holding up great so far, i have both the shorty and the full cuff.

oh i know i will. my best friend has a pair. i waited on him to get his first. they don't, however, keep your hands as warm as i thought they would. i guess in that environment, i'd use the operators as glove liners for heavier gloves.

i'm going to do either ranch rescue or some similar organization for spring break. so, i'll need most of this gear for security patrols. i won't need the number of mags that i'll have room for, but the only time anyone's ever complained about having too much ammo is when they're sinking or on fire. i'll have a 16-mag capacity in my gear. most likely, on patrols, i'll take everything except either the drop-leg pouches or the two SOE patrol pouches. i'll have to fiddle with it all once it all comes in to see how i'm going to work it. i will likely have to make changes once i've been in the field a little.

Umm, what is ranch rescue? Also, how old are you? I just couldn't fathom why one would need all that stuff in GA of all places...
