My new car - VW Corrado

    1993 VW Corrado
    2.8L VR6 12v engine - 178hp
    68,xxx Miles / 109,xxx Km
    5 speed
    Heated tan leather
power sunroof/locks/windows/mirrors, A/T/C, MFA dash, headlight washers, speed activated rear spoiler

    Engine mods:
    Air Intake

    Suspension mods:
    Eibach lowering springs
    Bilstein shocks
    17x7.5 Borbet C rims (curb damaged like a mo-fo)
    205 40 17 Falken Azenzis - Putting on 215 40 17 Kumho Ecsta 712's tonight
    Neuspeed upper strut tie bar
    Neuspeed Rear tie bar

    Stereo:
Sony 10disc changer - useless to me, so i'm going to sell it
    Sony CDX-C780 head unit
    JL Audio 10" Sub
    Presicion Power 250 + 275 amps
    6 JBL speakers

I never thought i'd drive a car w/ a sub (extra weight = :nono: ), but it sounds real nice, and it fits perfect w/ the tie bar in the trunk.

Its not perfect, it needs a bit of work, but all minor things. Pics are taken right after i S100'd it at a local snow dump / off-road area just north of the city. Its slow, but handles good. Big plans for this car is all I will say. :) And yes, I will take off the stickers. ;)

EDIT: Motherfuck  Pics aren't linking correctly. Click here to view the photo album:

I've been in love with Corrado's since long before i could drive. I had the option of this car, or an awd turbo vr6 passat w/ ~$40,000usd in modifications to it for just a few thousand more than this car.

    I couldn't resist the 'Raddo. :o

Oooohhhhh....the holy grail of old-school VW tuning.....I am so jealous! Corrados are sooooo nice. That VR mill is pretty receptive to tuning, and with low mileage like that, you should have a ton of fun ahead of you!! I somehow skipped owning one of those with all my GTI's and Jettas, but I should have.

    What's the "rear plug" for?

LOL. A bunch of us on the vortex where just discussing that rear plug.

Supposedly it screws out and a tow hook screws in. Someone else said there's a rear fog or reverse light that can be fitted in that spot.

BTW, its cdn models only. US-spec raddos' bumpers have no hole on the p. side.

I have always loved the Corrado, inside and out. I almost bought one a few years ago. Good choice with the VR6 too. Congrats!

    Oh, ok. That makes sense.

I thought it was some kind of electrical connector...

So did i at first. :o I was thinking it was some sort of emissions device (bought the car in BC, and here in Sask. we have zero emissions regulations. )

So far i'll i've come across are CR 2000's. I'm hoping to find something very similar to the borbets, but with a huge lip. :big grin:

Corrado's are bad ass cars. There is a nicely modded one here in reno. Bright yellow with neuspeed products.
