It's a Polish Tantal -74 kit build with a fixed stock and retarded ass Monster Man Grip to make it CA legal. I had the shop refinish the original tantal stock to match the gun, if I ever want to swap when I'm out of state. The reason I didn't go with the AK bullet button is because it fucks with the rivet or pin in the magazine release assembly and I'm not about to do that; plus, all I have to do is unscrew the bolt and swap grips and I'm GTG for when I'm out of state :hsugh:

The stock is OD Green, the grip is supposed to be flat dark earth, which at first I thought looked dumb but the mix of colors is growing on me. I thought about kryloning all of it to match, but fuck it.

It was parkarized then painted by a smith down in Fresno (PRK Arms). They do really good work and have great attention to detail. Normally their AK builds (including Build, park, paint & refinish wood (includes rivets)) are $300, but they knock $50 each build if you bring in more than one. My Romy-G AK-47 build is almost done :x:

Took it out to the range yesterday to blast for a bit. Didn't take the time to bother if the sights were dialed in, but I had no problems getting good groups on a paper plate at 25 yards. Recoil is pretty much nil from the caliber and the muzzle break :coold:

I don't like the mismatched colors or grip, but I understand it. :hsd:

Man..... That just honestly makes me sad.

Not the kit and work (whick look great), just the monsterman thing that CA forces you to have. Does it feel bettert than it looks?

The rest of it looks great. One of the nicest AK's I've ever seen.

To be honest, it's not terrible to shoot. It feels almost like a traditional style of rifle stock.

For an AK or an AR, it's pretty fucking odd, just considering they're "combat" weapons? If that makes sense.

    :hsd: Damn, thanks dude.

I just realized the shop still has the original grip screw (I have an OD green grip for when I'm not in CA).

Next time I'm "out of state" I'll have to take some regular pics

My mom just came upon an AK down there in Californistan. It's not very Cali legal, what with the pistol grip and the underfolding stock and the 100 round drum it came with.

if it was registered as an AW before 1/1/2000 it would be legal.

:werd: I might be working for a bit here, just because I'm already in with my internship and it pays good money. But I'm definitely going to GTFO.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was. Only thing is, she just bought it from somebody my stepfather worked with and they have no paperwork on it, so what does that do to the legality of it?

Assault weapons can't be transferred to other CA residents.

if it was brought outside of CA, then sold, it would probably be MORE legal than buying it inside of CA. especially if they didn't go through an FFL.

    They absolutely do.

My only complaint is their estimated turn around time was WAAYYY inaccurate, and throughout the job they never really gave a real dead line estimation.

I gave them my kits on July 16th, they told me 4-6 weeks for both.

I picked up the -74 yesterday, it was the 17th week on the day.

The -47 is still there :hs:

It took me awhile to understand this. I guess I was a fudd.

My friend Drew explained it to me and I started buying firearms.

I really used to not understand the need/want of military style guns.

He does good work btw. He did the hello kitty AR that was all over the internet.
