Hey all, I just came back from picking the 05 Mustang that I ordered back in January, I have been so excited and the wait was almost unbearable.
After driving it around so far heres my take on the performance.

    2005 Mustang v6 Premium
    Satin Silver
    Black Leather
    Shaker 500 Watt Stereo
Interior upgrade package (crome dash kit, MyColor changing guages, ect.)
Exterior upgrade package (side stripe, rear spoiler)
    Side Air Bags
    Traction control/anti-lock brakes
    Power seating/mirrors/lumbar
    Fully Loaded

    Pros:
    Beautiful Exterior/Interior
Well build interior compared to past Mustangs
Handles awesome compared to past cars (97 Eclipse)
    Great stereo sound
Outstanding performance and surprising acceleration for a v6
    Many standard features (power everything)
    Comfortable seats
MyColor is pretty neat to play around with
    Best car for the price

    Cons:
    Brakes could be better
Very little back seat room for friends
Stereo has skipped a couple times, ford is working on fixing this
Very high hood, hard to see, luckly the drivers seat raises upwards

This car has made an amazing overall impression on me so far. I still can't believe how many people will turn their heads to get a view of my car. Today after getting out of my shower I noticed a couple of people standing around my car in my driveway looking at it. It sorta scared me at first but I will have to get used to it I guess. Let me be the first to say that I am VERY SPOILED by my parents, and I am incredibly grateful that they are buying me this nice of a car, since I am only 16.
Heres some pictures, not the best pictures in the world, they were taken very quickly, and I will get pictures of anything else on the car if you guys want.

Ahh, I was wondering why you got the V6 over the V8. Nice car :) They do look a LOT nicer in person than in pictures. I really like the classic look to it, even down to the guages it looks like. I really didn't like them at all when they first were released, but it's growing on me. Still not sure I'd own one though :hs:

    Nice car man :)

Wrong, a good car for a 16 year old is a '92 Civic.

I doubt a v6 is any different than your mother, give her some torque off the line and use finesse to draw it back into a firm 2nd gear transition. This is when the front end begins to lift off the ground, and right when I'm ready to cross the finish line I start messing around with the knobs like I am tuning an old 80s FM band radio station. Before you know it I'm getting the checkered flag and she's still asking for more.

oh and buy an av you stupid noob.

Some of you guys need to realize that V6's have potential.

    A bone stock 05' automatic V6 makes roughly 178rwhp/205ft/lbs on a dyno and runs the 1/4th in low/mid 15s.

I haven't seen the results for the 5spd but i'm sure they are better.

200rwhp and 14s can be achieved with simple bolt-ons I bet.

Its really nothing to brag about since that is still slow when compared to you V8 guys but its not :greddy: like some of you have mentioned.

Hell, if I had a 05' V6 I would swap the DOHC 24V Cosworth designed heads on it. That would make it a competitor.

Lay off, he's 16, and excited about his new car. I think you all remember being there, and I know not everyone had a 500hp monster for their first car.

Not to mention I think a V8 is a bit too much for someone learning to drive.

Lay off all you morons that say its not a V8. He is 16, and with his immaturity he will probably just end up killing him self with the V8. IMO even the v6 is probably too quick for him.

As for the poster, you are extremely lucky to have parents who buy you a brand new car as your first car.

It looks very nice and it sounds like you are in love with it. Be happy about it and don't let OT of all things bring you down. Have fun and be careful. The VAST majority of humans will not care that it's not a V8. ENJOY!

all the trash talk is a waste. i mean this isn't some 30-40 thousnad dollar car here. its a $20K car and I'm sure that after a year or two, new ones will be selling at extremely discounted prices. Whats wrong with 210 hp/240 ftlb and a style that impresses the average person for under 20K? it doesn't get that bad of gas milage either with 19 in the city and 28 on the highway.

the V6 is a better buy for what there charging you. i mean how hard would it have been to give us a 5.0 and a 6 speed, but no we get the same "OLD" 4.6 and 5 speed when the camaro has had a 5.7 since 1967 and a 6 speed since 1993. ford need to get with the times, fuck celicas come with 6 speeds even the GTR Sentra has one?? for a V6 pony car the new mustang is farly quick.
