I remember when I first bought it, it was super light. It had one of those cheap 1-piece forends, but I replaced it with an actual slide action tube, and houge forend. So is the houge really that much heavier than a standard 500/590 Forend?

I'm thinking about making mine a "Cruiser" model, but I also want it to be pretty light.

ibBuyARemington870 - I already have one, and that bitch is heavy.

i kept the cheap sythetic stock and forend on my mossy to keep it light.
love the mossy, the action doesn't feel as smooth as the 870 but it was cheap, and light as a feather so i still like it

My M500 is heavy as shit because of what I stoke it with. No shells, or bird and it becomes pretty light. If I want better balance and maneuverability, I grab the S12.
