I tried to save an image from random website, everything froze in the 'save as' screen, so I did ctrl, alt & del to get out of it (I may have hit another button) and the screen went black, then when it came back on it was showing everything at a 90 degree angle and the mouse is also off, I need to stand and look at an angle to see wtf I am doing, plus it starts up fine, it's just when it gets to which user I want to log in as that it displays the screen like this (it's Windows XP if that helps). Thanks for any help.

When it first happened to me, I had to turn my laptop sideways and google the shortcut keys...

I later found out that there are menu options to rotate the screen in the display properties.

Depends on the video card maybe? Can your display support rotation? If I right-click on my deskop I have a graphics options menu where I can do it too :dunno:

Used to do this at work, rotate display, take screen shot, hide task bar. It was hilarious watching people not only try and figure out how to get to the start menu but also try and rotate the screen back.
