I was looking for an MP3 locally a few months ago, couldnt find one. I like those cars. Did they come turbocharged? (obviously not your manifold and such) or was it just the "mp3" Kenwood headunit and body cladding that made them "unique"?

The latter. They did not come turbocharged, but they came with a tuned suspension from Racing Beat, using Tokico HP struts, and racing beat sway bars.

The 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege was turbocharged stock. I bought this car brand new in 2001, and trust me, it wasn't boosted. It was the pre-cursor to the Mazdaspeed Protege.

Go here for more details: http://www.racingbeat.com/FRprotege.htm

I works fine in the summer in the 100+ degree heat of North Texas....

I made sure it has proper ventilation, and the processor itself doesn't produce much heat at all, as it is embedded with the VIA EPIA M10000 Motherboard.

Just a GT28RS (.64 Turbine Side) for now. I haven't tracked it since 2003 or 2004, when I still had my first turbo kit.

    Thanks for the comments.

All the body pieces on the outside of my car are stock, except for the hood, and the front lip in case anyone is wondering. Other than that, even the wheels on my car are stock.

decent install, however.. are you really using winamp as your front end?

step up to a real front end like centrafuse, or at least use something like roadrunner.

    anything is better than.. that

i did the same thing in my '04 WRX, im assuming you are part of mp3car.com as well? if so, my car is the 04 wrx w/ like 50k or so hits now.

That is an old picture from last year, when I had just finished building the car computer. I use RoadRunner, with the DigitalFX 4.0 skin now, but am thinking of taking the plunge to Centrafuse. Also use Halwin software to tune my car, and monitor digital gauges. Another thing I am wanting to do, is change my screen setup. I want to either recess it, or mold it into the dash. Transreflective would be nice, so it is sunlight readable. There are other aspects to the install too, like Sirius over TOS link, and my 5-Channel Eclipse Amp that are not shown.

Yes, I am on MP3car.com as well, same user name.

What kind of question is that? You know a modded car is never complete...

But I mostly just maintain the car now. The engine is over 5 years-old, and the car is over 7 years old. I updated my second post in this thread to reflect my mods.

transreflective really isnt worth it.. i have seen em in the sunlight and its only a little better than normal ones, (they are just like the "anti glare" screens for laptops).

rather than spend the extra 100 on transflective, buy centrafuse. you will be much happier than it. With the new RC, bluetooth phone support is awesome, media library is awesome, iguidance is a simple plugin..

how is sirius for you? is it intergrated into the computer? or is it a seperate unit?

I'm using a separate Sirius unit, an the USB adapter from mitchjs. I have it going in via SPDIF (TOS), and the Winamp line-in plugin is allowing that input to channel through my analog output at the same time.
