At first i thought it was my battery because it coincidentally happened when it was unplugged, however now it has been shutting off randomly pretty often. I got this macbook in June and replaced the 512MB of Memory it came with to 2 GB of crucial. Could this be a memory failure? Anybody have similar problems?

I'm assuming you did the firmware update? It should be automatic.

If you've done that and it's still shutting off, call Apple.

I've got no idea, however I will say that if you do call in to apple, swap back in the 512MB just in case. Or try it with the 512MB of ram before calling Apple, because if its your RAM they can't do anything about it.
