Do I make an appointment with a chiropractor or a physical therapist is my question?

I have no idea. When I went to my family doctor she prescribed me some percs and said "LOLS THERES NOTHING WRONG, take these" fucking stupid cumkangaroo. I told her to keep the prescription and just left.

Just lay off of putting heavy stress on it for awhile... it's been working for me.

Ex: Front squats instead of back squats, no deadlifts

    Go to a chiropractor.

I can't vouch for anyone specifically because I don't know anyone there, but we're the best when it comes to spinal problems.

    What exactly is going on?

Get someone that isn't batshit insane, like those whackos claiming to cure cancer and the common cold with back adjustments. Take the time to find someone that really knows his sports medicine stuff.

But go to a sports medicine DOCTOR first.

    Wrong.

Chiropractors know more about joint dysfunction in the spine than anyone else.

THIS. My GP will give me Flexeril, Percs,* and a pat on the back, but a sports guy will have some idea of what to look at.

*don't knock Flexeril and Percs, at the end of a day when I am tired and my back is in knots sometimes it hits the spot along with a hot bath, no homo.

I fondly recall my high school AP bio class where a visiting chiro was trying to convince my teacher that he could cure serious cases of diabetes :ugh:

Do you remember what type of diabetes?

Adult onset (type II) is completely reversible through diet and exercise.

I've gotten one of my patients asymptomatic and I cotreat with her GP.

I would probably shy away from the term cure though.

All I recall is that my teacher's daughter had it very bad and was being treated with oodles of meds, and the chiro was like OH ROFL I CAN ADJUST HER AND MAKE IT GO AWAY and my teacher was like :ugh:

Like I said, I wasn't there so I can't debate your memory, but type 2 is "curable".

Type one can become asymptomatic but it requires a really disciplined individual to make it happen.

Chiropractic has never been about curing disease through adjustments.

It's always been about getting the body to heal itself.

Some of it through the adjustment, some of it through coaching on a regular basis.

It's more about lifestyle change, diet, exercise and keeping the body in working order than anything else.

A few dirtbags have spoiled it for the rest of us.

Not really. We're the most conservative option, even when compared to OTC meds. I'm not saying we can fix everything, but we're at about 90%.
