Just finished my latest Rasterbator project, thought I would share.

I had Kinkos print it on glossy card stock, and then I trimmed and mounted the pages on black foam core. I think it turned out pretty well. The image is a photo taken from inside the Stamford Cone sculpture in Connecticut, with a bit of post, obviously.

This is the first time I'd used an abstract image as the source, as I've done mostly cars and motorcycles in the past.

The final product is about 78 inches wide by 40 inches tall. Changes the whole room, IMHO. That's a king-size bed, for reference.

Anybody have any Raster art they wanna share? SHOW ME!

Sorry for the noisy image, I had to use my GF's cam since my Canon is at work.

You can do them online here: http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/

Or you can DL the standalone program, which is what I use....then pic an image you like, and let the program make it as big as you like...

What did Kinkos charge you for something like that? (the cards)
What kind of file did you give them?
    What was the final cost?

    1mm

It's about $1.40 a page, but I have a hookup at one of the local ones, so I only paid .30 prer page.
Rasterbator exports the file to .PDF. You need to tell Kinko's to print the PDF file at the highest quality possible, and set it "stretch to margins".
    About $40.

:werd: on the mounting. I made one for my daughters room but haven't put it up yet. It's in 8x10 frames. Probably would be easier to put on the board.

In for a rasterbation mounting EDU. :)

Also, did you cut out the gaps? Or just space them apart?

OP did you do 1mm raster? and what was your orignal resolution..I wanna do

    THIS http://i6.tinypic.com/6ovqiqq.jpg
    picture I took ... Its a big one 3828 x 2530 cropped.

I was gonna do it on A3 paper, 6x6 landscape sheets. But im worried my image isnt high rest enough and will come out pixalated. I rasterbated it, and you do notice the slight pixelation but its nothing HORRIBLE

mine are framed 8x10 too. frames were like $3 each. i used a laser leveler that spins around real fast and draws a line across the room and hung them on that will a little math too space them apart.

My dad wants me to do a gigantic rastorbation for the new house hes building for the theatre room. like a 10x10 image of something, thinking like a scene from scarface or terminator or aliens. some famous movie

I'm considering doing this. Moving into an apartment and I've got absolutely nothing to hang on the walls, not even a clock lol.
