My laptop wont recognize my sound card...

    For som e reason my computer wont recognize the sound card. I tried the installation CD that came with it but it still wont recognice that the device is even there.

    By the way I have a Dell inspiron e1505.

    When I try to install drivers I get a 'No Supported Device Found'

    You need to install the motherboard drivers before anything attached to the motherboard can be used correctly.

    It's not a Dell problem and you know it. At least try to be helpful.

    I would prefer "do this, this, and this, in that order, and the problem will go away."

    (waits for Jolly to say "Unplug your Dell, throw it in the garbage, and buy a real computer, in that order, and the problem will go away.")

    Id rather not have a dell.. this is what was bought for me and im making the best of it. Dells software is just so confusing. The software that they sent me witht he laptop OBVIOUSLY doesnt work for some reason.. and i have to get stuff from their website.

    Have you tried running a full Windows Update scan to see if it can find suitable drivers?

    Don't use Dell crapware. You don't need a WiFi manager or a realtime support tool, or any of that stuff.
