Here's a few pics of my knife collection. I enherited 100 or so from my grandfather when he passed away. Since then I have been adding my own into the collection, I'm up to 116 knives at the moment. Most of the knives are Case knives, and I'm really getting into benchmade and kershaw knives. I'm just too poor to really add a lot to it at this point in my life. Anyways, on to the pics:

(don't mind the BB guns :mamoru:)

This is the case I keep them in, it's completely full. I have another one but I can't justify using it atm since it'd only hold like 5 knives at this point.

My grandma sent me 100 bucks for christmas to buy something for myself, I'm thinking about another knife.

Looking for a fixed blade with a sheath, I really like the looks of this one:

    Or maybe this one:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Kershaw-Militar...4QQihZ011QQcategoryZ43326QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    or this

Any good quality diving/boot knife with sheath will be looked at.

I like the BM Nim. Awesome knife. I've got one I use as a all-round utility knife around camp.

Also check out some the Ontario knives, particularly the TAK2 and RAT3. They're great blades for around $100.

Also, check out newgraham for knives, they've got some good specials this time of year. I get most of my stuff from there. Great CS. http://www.newgraham.com

Yup, the kershaw blur is my daily carry knife. I'll take a couple more pics in a min for you.

Sweetcheeks - Thanks for the link! Those Ontario knives look pretty decent, I'll definetly put those on my list.

I saw your question about it's size in the other thread, I measured mine for you. It's 4.5" closed and 7.75" open. The clip is reversable too, so you can keep it in your pocket either way up. I absolutely love this knife. Plus, it's a Ken Onion so you get the speed-assist open :big grin:

Here's a couple pics of the blur:

Yea I love this knife, it's the only one I found in the grey/black blade. Most of the grey ones have a silver blade. I actually got it in Tennessee at the world's largest knife store in Gatlingburg. I  that store!!!

Yup. It's from my Grandfathers collection. I was really taking a look at it today (after having the collection for over a year) and I found this in there. There's a pile of real nice knives but that one just caught my eye today.

Okay Mr. Knife. Question for you, since you seem to be the man in the know. :big grin:

    I used to have a S&W SWAT-mini. Then I lost it. :(
I ordered a S&W SWAT on Ebay to replace it. I didn't realize there was a difference between a SWAT and a SWAT-mini and this thing would DOMINATE my pocket. So I won't carry it around.

What would you recommend for daily carry? Something like that SOG Flash 1. Half serrated, half straight blade. I'd prefer it to be 3.5" or less when closed. Under $50.

The Flash 1 is too small for me, it's 3 1/4" closed. I daily carry the Kershaw blur that is pictured above. It's 4.5" closed. It is also available in a combo blade.

A daily carry knife really needs to be what's comfortable with you. You said you want a combo blade, a knife that's 3.5" or so closed, but what else? Price range? Assisted open? I'm a huge Kershaw sackrider so I love their knives. I don't know of any of them that are as small as you want though. Why don't you want a knife that's ~4.5" closed? I find a knife that size more comfortable in my hand, and I have little girly hands :mamoru:

You can pick up a combo edge kershaw for 50 bucks easy. I'll find a few links for you, but they won't be knives that are as small as you want.

    :)
Well I appreciate any suggestions you might have. The problem with the 4.5"+ knives (IMHO) is that they would dominate my pocket, which will also contain my phone and a pen and any change I'm carrying, etc. So a smaller knife is preferrable. For ME. :hs:

Take a look at the 2 links I provided, both are knives under 3.5" that are of good quality. Plus the SOG is a lot cheaper than I remember it being.

I like the Kershaw Leek. 3" of blade. 4" closed. Assisted opening. Thin profile so it doesn't take up a lot of pocket space. I put mine through a lot over the past 2 years, and its held up fine. Taken it everywhere. Can be had for around $50.

I inherited 2 of them with the knife collection when my grandfather passed away. I have NO idea where he got them from, but to my understanding they are just hobby tool chests. If you search google for wood tool box you should find a couple. These ones were close to 500 dollars a piece from what my grandmother was telling me.
