About 5min after I turn it on the fans go nuts. Guess I'm putting an a/c unit in this room.

It's the top floor of a 3 family house. 3 major rooms are open to each other so it's hard to keep the place cool. Plus, whoever wired the house was a complete f'n moron so 3/4 of the rooms go into 1 breaker. Running 2 a/c units makes a dent (I say mid-hi 70's) but you can't keep any lights on or you'll trip the breaker. It stays hot well into the evening even when it's cool out.

My poor cats are haven't moved from in front of the fan I put on the floor for them. :(

    i wouldn't like an 85° apartment either.

  8. Wouldn't the air conditioner be louder than your G5?

Yes. But being nice & cool would be worth it.

Plus, my G5 is "loud" to begin with. It's not PC loud. But since the 6800 card run so hot on it's own the fan in front of it runs faster so it's the only one I hear.
