its not a bad shock, more like a sensation sometimes. some days it will be fine, and some days, if i touch the metal sides i get a little sensation, feels kinda like a 9-volt battery on the tongue. probably 12v, feels like DC and not AC.
Also, anything usb, like my digicam, carries this same sensation when i plug it in.
wtf do i do? its out of warranty. try to sell it before it takes a serious shit?
i have a good backup, and i keep my firewire drive unplugged when i am not backing up.

ill add that i use my mini as a server right now b/c my monitor is burned out and i cant afford a new one. i just keep it running to server itunes, file serving, and iphoto serving. i VNC or ssh to use it when i need to.

and if it might help, sometimes, when i VNC in, the display is all scrambled, and it remains that way until do a shutdown/restart

I would get shocked ALL the time when I was living in Phoenix. That is the only time it has ever happened.

    tha shocker!!!

for real though i checked my outlets, and yeah, not grounded.
whoever wired this house was a MORON. they actually clipped the ground wire flush with the insulation on the romex in some outlets. and then they pulled wires backwards, so they ended up pulling the wires tight, so there is no slack on them at all. on a GFCI circuit no less

anyways long story short, yes, having no ground will probably cause getting a "sensation"

I used to have this 1970's yamaha guitar amp - thing was a beast. The ground prong was broken on the plug and I was too lazy to get around to fixing it.

I'd always ask my friends to up the volume for me

Since it was so sold the dials/switches were all chrome and solid metal haha

    They would jump 2 feet.
