My friend wants to learn how to ride motorcycles. I suggested a Honda Rebel to start with. We can find them for around his price range. Now somebody suggested a Buell Blast. I think that the Rebel is a better starter bike but maybe the blast will be better as you can ride it more after you learn to ride. I was also thinking about the 50cc Aprilla sport bike for him. What do you guys think?

forget the Aprilia for many numbers of reasons.

buell blast is a decent bike, also in that range would be the Kawasaki Ninja 250. the rebel you suggested is also a good bike.

others to consider are the Kawi Ninja 500 or the Suzuki GS500F.

so, what IS his price range?

Why not the Aprilla? About $2000.

...i got a 250r its a good beginners bike, 500r is good also but high price for something your going to upgrade in a season or so, same with the gs500. Cycleworld rated the 500r alot better than the gs500 and the gs is acouple hundred more. Iv rode a blast before, they are junk LOL i say the 250r is ur best bet, espcially over a rs50/rebel...
