I put a disk in and try to read it... next thing I know it's telling me to put a disk in....

    WTF?

Check the floppy drive cable, then the power supply cable going to the floppy drive, then the mobo.

Firswt things first, just get another floppy drive, plug it in and see if it works. It's all process of elimination.

First I would try a couple different disks.

If it really is bad they are only ~$10.

Or get rid of it altogether and get an internal zip drive. Floppy drives are becoming obsolete pretty quickly, now that there's Zip drives, CD Burners and USB Memory Keys :wavey: .

    Teh floppy can never lose!

Until every modern computer can use those devices WITHOUT PISSING ME OFF, I'll stick with my floppy boot disk full of goodies.

How long will it take before mobos support booting off of the standard USB High Capacity Storage Device driver? :wtc:
