I thought I'd give it a try.. Honestly, I don't usually like HDR images, and that doesnt really change for these.. I'm not a huge fan, they just look too fake :dunno:

Figured I'd post them anyway just to get some feedback.

One thing I noticed is I get alot of color noise when doing HDR.. It's really bad in some spots. Is this normal or was it something I did wrong?

    Anyway, here they are:

PS: I'm Using Photomatix Pro 2.1

only one exposure? thats why you are getting noise. there is only so much you can bump the colour / exposure in software, you will probably notice it most in the areas that were dark to begin with.

they look pretty damn good too, sure the hdr is over done, but at least they are interesting! :coold:

The first 2 were multiple exposures.. 5 I think

Only the last one was a single exposure.

The moral of the story? Multiple exposures suck. Stick to one!

What software are you using. I dig the effect in the last one.

Generally I think HDR can be skipped if all you want to do is darken the sky. Sometimes it looks good. Other times, the same effect can be achieved just by lowering overall contrast, and increasing local contrast with a USM.

But isn't HDR only true HDR if you bracket the exposure of 3 photos and basically use the best 1/3 of each :dunno:

Since I'm taking 5+ exposures... they move a bit, so when the images are pasted on top of eachother, you can see what looks like movement.

your first set looks quite boring but starting with your downtown shot, I think they look awesome. the downtown one could probably be sold as is.
