So I went with a friend to Thunder Hill and attended Keigwins beginner race school. It went great. Got my knee down in the first session and improved really quickly through out the two days. I'm definatly hooked now. :hsd:

Not too shabby for my first time at a track :coolugh:

My form still needs some work. Head needs to be in more, less lean angle on the bike. :o

Passing an R1 on the outside of turn 2 with my knee down.

I have decided that I am selling the RC and I am buying a 600 track/race bike. Modifying the RC would cost too much for me right now and its definatly getting outdated.
The bike did handle really well for being stock (after being set up by the suspension guy on track). It was a great feeling to see what that bike can really do.

My pilot powers also held up really well. They are the regular street ones, a 180 in the rear. I was never lacking grip even at 120mph around turn 7. I definatly suggest them as a street/track tire, or just a street tire.

For times I was able to pull in around 2:15's my last couple laps. :eek3:

that was your first track day ever? nice job! it looks like you had a lot of fun! how close were you when you passed that R1? that looks super close! i'd be really nervous. haha. how is thunderhill anyway? i'm planning on going there for labor day weekend. not the school, just the trackday. a lot of fast big turns or tight slow ones?

First track days ever, it was a 2 day school. I had an absolute blast. I was pretty close to the R1 but he was holding a nice consistant line I wasn't nervous about being that close to him.

Thunder Hill is a great track. It has a couple tight corners, a cork screw, 2 straights, and some nice fast corners on the back side of it. Corners 7 and 8 i was going about 120mph. I actually got my knee down on 7 a couple times. A good mixture of everything on that track.

:o I knew someone would see that. My roomate and i were riding one day and while parked he accidently knocked my bike over. Bent the lever a day before we left for the track days.

    Its fixed now.

I love the pic of u passing that R1.... Amazing :eek4:

Don't sweat the clutch lever, when my bike went down a couple of weeks ago, about an inch of the clutch lever cracked off when it hit... Kind of like ghetto CRG's

    Good stuff.

Your form's not too bad either, you just need to get off the bike more. The rc's a pig on the track, and when i first tracked my rc i only lasted 2 sessions, so kudos to you.

You'll go a lot faster a lot easier on a 600. Which ones are you looking at?

I actually felt good on the RC. The handling was set up great. It was really nice to feel what that bike can do.

As for a 600, I'm looking at an 05' 600RR soon. Been downed and claimed on insurance. Supposed to be cosmetic damage only. $2,500. I have to call the guy tomorrow.

If that doesn't go through, Im thinking about an 02,03 R6. I heared from the suspension guy that it is a very good track bike, cheap to fix, and when set up well can break 2min at Thunder Hill. (with modified forks, aftermarket rear shock, slicks).

:wtf: theres no fucking way that bike is going for 2500. newer RR's are going for at least 5500 right now.

fuck, 2500 around my area will barely buy me an early 90s 600 :wtc:
