Today was awesome. I'm glad too because this whole week I didn't sleep very well, I kept day dreaming about how my matches were gonna go, and I had stomach problems to (yes, diarrhea, I know I know).

I weighed in at 123lbs and had to wrestle the lowest weight class which was 140lbs and under. Not only that, they put the Novice & Intermediate divisions together because there were not enough people.

My first match was against a wrestler, he was strong, I caught him in an armbar though and made him tap out verbally which is the greatest gift you can bestow for you opponent.

2nd match I went against another wrestler, a real good wrestler but I went from a flying armbar transitioned to a triangle and made him tap out.

And my 3rd match (finals) was the best, he was good so I didn't wrestle with him on the ground too much and I just went for certain takedowns, got em, and stood up and repeated. Not the way I like to win but still, a win is a win...

And then I joined the Absolute division which was where weight and skill didn't matter, anyone can join. I went up against a 200lb guy who beat the #1 200lb guy from last year from my school. I did a flying armbar, didn't get it and then he caught me in a kimura. Not fun wrestling a 200lb guy, not fun at all but good experience.

I'll post the vids up once they're "verified" by google video which might take a couple days :\

    w00t w00t.

was it NAGA in new jersey? That'd be sweet if you won a sword.

    Here's my 1st match:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dhil8j1CffQ

2nd match I didn't record. To tell you the truth, I didn't think I was going to win this match, I was going up against a guy who was a real good wrestler and cut down to 140lbs and I was just gonna go in there and do w/e. I threw in a flying armbar and that didnt work but it set up my legs for a triangle on the ground and I got him with it lol. Shit happens I guess lol

    3rd match:

Thankssss!! you don't know how much that means to me, I lost a lot of sleep and time into this lol

2-3 years off and on, I haven't been very consistent. I would wrestle and during the off season I use to slack off and do bjj or submission wrestling during the summer but after this tourny, I want to put in more time into BJJ.

After watching the vids, there were so many more things that I could've done. I really wanted to offer exciting matches lol, I could've shot in more but I was afraid of gullotines because I haven't worked on my doubles in submission wrestlin too much. And I wanted to go for my submissions but i was bein a pussy and just really wanted 1st place because i was thinking about this the whole year. I'm going to train again and step my game up a notch, I want to submit all my opponents next year.

I'm 5"4 @ 123lbs at the tourny. I'm going to try to gain more weight for next year for both wrestling and submission wrestling.

Yeah, in the third match, I didn't wanna stay in his guard because he was pretty good with his guard so I just stood up whenever I was in his guard. I hated that gameplan but I really, really wanted to win. This year I'm going to work on passing the guard and maintaining position more so I can submit more hehehe.

I did a lot of dumb stuff lol Hopefully next time I'll actually be able to finish them :noes:

I may not have a video but at least I have this picture!! The guy was a real good wrestler, I just saw the triangle and knew I had to get it or I knew I was going to lose. I was scurred.

those guys, except maybe the first guy (i think it was), weren't all that great though. still, it was damn impressive how he controlled everybody and put everybody on the defensive. my favorite and when somebody went for a single and genki just stood there looking at him

i saw an ADCC tourny match he fought against a gracie (royce?), but he lost :\ gave up 20lbs or so to him though
