I competed in the 100% Raw World Championships yesterday hosted by Dan Corridean in Hagerstown, MD. The "World Championships" is deceiving because all but 4 people were from the US. A family of 3 came from Estonia and there was a guy from Russia; why they would fly around the world for this meet, I have no clue...

Most of the weights are approximate because they were slightly off from the kilo conversion and the results haven't been posted yet.

    Squat:
    380
    413
    429.9
all white lights and the weights seemed very easy, the judge said I was below parallel by 2", I should have gone up more

    Bench:
    250
    275.6
    292 no lift
my bench sucks, I got one red light on the first lift because my heel was up slightly according to the one judge, they didn't have a dedicated lift-off man (I got someone for my 3 attempt) so the one spotter would give you a lift-off and then quickly run over resulting in a shitty lift-off, the 292 was attempted twice because the first time they made a mistake and put 2 more kilos on one side and they didn't realize it until afterwards

    Deadlift:
    407
    429
    451.9
all easy as hell, I should have gone up more but this was a big PR for me

    Total: 1157.4 lbs

The equipment was great (Polak Made racks and bench) and the weights were Ivanko calibrated. The Okie Deadlift bar felt really good. I thought it was a pretty well run meet except it should have been kept a 2 day event; I got there at 8am to sign in and check rack heights and didn't go out until 8:20pm. I started to feel very tired after the BP and I slept incredible last night. I met some really great people and am glad I went.

I weighed in at 229.6 so was in the 242 weight class and got 2nd place in the 242 Junior (20-24) class. BUT I think there were only 2 in this particular class so that means nothing  I still got a trophy but it means very little considering

I ended up gashing my left knee cap open walking around the weirdly set-up bleachers between my 1st and 2nd BP attempts. It was pretty deep and if I wasn't at the meet I would have gone to Urgent Care, but I pulled through and am glad I didn't go. I ended up putting on a large bandage and wrapping 2 seperate gauzes around it to stop the bleeding with the meet director's permission (no knee wraps or sleeves allowed).

This is the best I can do right now as far as pics, I'm sorry.

my upper back became extremely cramped/sore after the squat and didn't really go away until I was about to go to bed

my right shoulder is very sore today

    hopefully everything returns to normal!

oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Channel 4 from England was on hand taping a documentary for this 6 or 7 year old boy that was lifting and how strong he was supposed to be; which reminds me I HATE LITTLE KIDS LIFTING IN MEETS

I would have married the sound boom girl from the documentary though, she was just my type and had the cutest accent

Don't you hate when you fuck yourself up like that, it's like stubbing your toe.

    Self-ownage is the worst.

I'm a huge klutz, so I know exactly what you mean.

This is actually embarrassing but afterwords I did the exact same thing to my right knee but not nearly as bad and I had to put a bandaid on it. This guy was asking me about it but I mumbled something about the deadlift bar catching it in warmups.

    Thanks guys!

I was extremely nervous at first while waiting for my squat lifts. I had this sensation that I had to pee the whole time but I would go to the bathroom and nothing, just nerves. But as soon as the judge said "the weight is ready" or whatever, everything shut out, I didn't see the audience, didn't hear anything except the commands (thankfully), I couldn't tell you if I held my breath the whole time or if I took a breath after I unracked it, I have no clue

it was a completely different experience than anything else, the adrenaline high before, during, and afterwards was unreal

Thats exactly how I was. Nervous as fuck waiting for my lifts and seeing all the people in the audience. As soon as I stepped out on the platform I had no thoughts whatsoever.

to this day I don't remember if my form was any good, if there was any noise, anything. Pretty crazy. :o

I don't know if I did them or not

I think muscle memory is the only thing that saved me

Good stuff dude! How did you find the wait between lifts? I found it was really tough on the body spending so much time waiting to lift then trying to time your warmup lifts before hitting the stage.

I grew tired between lifts, I got bored of watching the 1st flight lift (sub 165)

yes, timing the warmup was tough, I'm pretty sure I warmup-ed too early each time but like I said I was bored/tired and wanted to get in on the action even it meant warmup
