Finally made my first handgun purchase. I love shooting my dad's P226 Elite and decided I wanted a similar gun that is a tad smaller so I can eventually CCW it. I settled on the P229 SAS Version 2 in 9mm. :coold:

Top Gun Supply has them for $840 + shipping, I got mine from a local guy and paid $930 out the door. It's nice to support the local FFL's and I only waited a week. :hsd:

Buy once, cry once. I could have bought a CPO P229R and added new night sights, SRT trigger, and sent it to GrayGuns to have the frame/slide melted down but that would have cost the same or possibly more. This pistol was exactly what I wanted and brand new from the factory. And it'll be my only pistol for a while so I figured fuck it. :hsd:

Not to mention I tried EVERYTHING the local gunshop had to rent (P2000, USP, Glocks, 1911, FNP, et al) and I always shot the best with my dad's P226.

Negative, won't even lock into place. The baseplate on the P229 mags is taller than the P226's. I wish they would have shipped this with the stock 13rd mags but whatever. Can't win them all!

Over the weekend at the range, the guy next to me had one, it jammed like 10 times and they only shoot like 30 rounds. They were like I give up, lets go home.
