I wanted to go and shoot today, but it has been cloudy and raining all day, So I decided to set up a ghetto studio setup.

I used 2 shop lights with 75w bulbs, and a white t-shirt with a piece of cardboard underneath, with the back kinda draped over a few pillows on the floor.

I need to find cooler subjects to take pictures of

Here is a 100% crop, for all the haters of my beer picture yesterday :mamoru: I CAN take sharp pictures :hs:

    Used my 50 1.8 at f/5.6

Can anyone see the wrinkles in the shirt though? Im working on a Macbook, and when I tilt the screen I can see them, but not when I look at it normally.

I see the wrinkle and I'm on my phone. On the left side of the camera, right?

they are all over the place, above it to the sides, in the shadows too I think. but, they are not easy to spot without knowing they are there.

not here, Ive got like nothing in my apartment. I moved out to CO from MI about a month ago, anything that didnt fit in the back of my jeep got left at my parents. I pretty much have my camera, laptop, and 2 computer speakers.

I was thinking of taking my 10" chef knife, and stabbing it into a cantaloupe, hoping I can get some juices to flow out :dunno:

I don't know If I want to eat a whole cantaloupe right now though.

maybe I'll mess around with the reverse mounted macro lens, see what some tools look like really close up

Yeah, I can see the wrinkles in the first picture. In the one of the shoes, you can also see the fibers on the shirt :o

lol, I had to much fun making this one. It wouldn't fit on my backdrop, and wasn't weighted evenly so it kept falling over

Is there anything free I can use for color calibration?

I really think I need something though, trying to do it by eye using apples color calibration is impossible (at least for me)

    not rly...

stop down more, use more light (flashes if possible - will allow you to use a fast shutter speed and reduce the chance of movement), focus towards the center or even slightly forward - not at the back.

I dont have any flashes yet, this was a ghetto setup with what I had in the apt.

The first pic the focus is a little towards the back. second one of the shoes I MF for the toes.

I was using my tripod with mirror lockup and shutter release, first shot was shot with f/5.6, and the second was shot at f/11

I know I need to get some flashes though :hs:

yea, you want them kinda on the soft side when you squeeze them, but if they are too soft, they are just mush and they suck. The last one I had was really good though.
