having a thumb in the collar in side and letting the guy slowly come to his knees (if you know he's not gonna get back to guard) right when he's thinking "oh shit, i'm out" you apply the clock choke :mamoru: i like to do the clock choke while pulling his other arm up under him. If he's not tapping i'll take my free arm and put my elbow next to his ear on the side he's being choked.

Really been trying to learn the nuances of the basic collar choke from mount. If Roger can use it against the best in the world, I certainly learn to use it well against the guys at my school.

i've been trying for that one alot, with the thumb in and then quickly shotting that arm underneath. If i base out on my head and they try to sweep i can keep my balance 95% of the time, any other good tips on keeing the base on this move?

so you actively try to get the cross or just take it if the dude is in the position?

its usually from a butterfly guard position. you can wait until the guy tries to sweep you.. or you can guide his legs into that position and then drive your knee through the center.

Its interesting because it usually doesnt take a lot of power. When you move his hooks will follow your body, and when his leg is extended away from his body you drive your knee through.

I do it to brolli in this video

    [y]4Cg_NruRjj0[/y]

around the 4:25 mark. I take a few steps.. Drive my knee through.. smash the leg and walk the other way. its not EXACTLY the same as leo was doing, but its a variation of the same pass.

Diego and Daniel should be there on monday, i'll ask them mr. chechen

Now that you're a brown belt you should open your own Cage BJJ school directly here in the OT Cage. Post daily/weekly techniques and talk about the philosophy of BJJ

Not my favorite but I like it because I was able to pull it off tonight, I did an armbar from half guard. Similar to this: [y]1eSC2d6FtlU[/y]
Only difference is I did lay back for the armbar instead of squeezing the knee like he did.

    speaking from the bottom guy...

inverted guard would be nice in return... good counter to that type of passing

if you laid back for the armbar why didn't the guy just come up to get out of it? feels like you wouldn't be able to get the levrage without being able to squeeze your legs. Unless your smashing his elbow into your balls and the guys gets scared and taps.
