I rented a lens from this company and think that anyone looking to rent a lens for an occasion or just to see if they might want to buy it, that this is the company to go with.

Lensloaners.com is a company started by a fellow OT'er, mikeskillz. The site and company are still in its infancy so there are a few things still being worked out. The biggest I found was sometimes when adding an item to your cart that says is available, you get an error message in checkout saying it is not available. This is the only thing negative I can say tho. Nikon peeps might be disappointed though.

I rented the 17-40 f4L for my trip to Disney earlier this month. I place the order that wednesday for it and when I arrived at the hotel that Friday evening to check in - the lens had been shipped and was waiting for me. Inside was the lens, hood, and pouch and nothing more. but nothing more is needed. And a whole lot of bubble wrap and packing peanuts and a return shipping label. Save this shit for return shipping

Lens was in pristine condition and worked exactly as it should. I am not going to go into lens performance and IQ because this is not a lens review.

The site and payment was very easy to use. shipping is very fast and packaging was done well. I plan on renting the 17-55 f2.8 and the 24-70f2.8L as well as I am buying one of these 2 and rather just try them first.

Shipping was 20 bucks and that covers both directions. And for OT'ers there is a coupon code that I used - OTAPMEMBER - I saved 40% off the rental of the lens with this. My total cost for the lens for 7 days was 40 bucks with this shipping and the coupon. I just verified adn the coupon does stil work.

I wanted to write this up as a very happy customer since this is a new company and also to give props to an OT'er

yes that is with the 20 bucks for shipping. I do not recall the 1 week rental on the lens but I got 40% off of that number and then add teh 20 bucks and th total was something like 43 dollars total. To me , to spend 43 bucks to rent a lens that I took about 1200 photos with before spending like 500 bucks on the purchase is money well spent.

Incedentally, I used the lens almost the entire time, and it was outdoors so beign limited to F4 was no biggie and it focused immediately (it was amazing) but I find that F4 would have me too limited indoors (which is usually where I shoot) and I wish I had just a tad more reach, hence why I am going to rent the other 2 lenses I mentioned

    I use lensrentals.com

They are local so I get to save on shipping. When I picked up the lens, I asked for a hood to which he replied, "The canon version doesn't come with a hood so we normally don't supply it". He then gave me a hood and a CPL (for free).

This is the 3rd time I have rented from them with no issues. I even brought back a lens 3 days late and wasn't charged.

    check them out.
