You don't need to explain what 4 door is... most people here have a clue ;) unlike the main forum. Nice car.

E36's are a little lighter and IMO the clutch, shifting, and handling is more responsive and gives more feedback than the E46. But, on any track with a straightaway, 333hp>240hp

    360whp from aktiveautowerks s/c kit > 333hp

    i'm in the market for a 2 door silver 95 but i'd take a 96-99 if i had to.

may i ask what the difference from the 93.5-95 and 96-99 is? i might be in the market for an e36 m3..or even and e30 m3 and i havent researched enough to know that there was a difference between the 2 halves of the generation.

E36 M3's started in 1995. In 1995, they had a 3.0L OBD-1 engine. It had the same horsepower rating, but a taller rear diff gear, and less torque. It didn't accelerate as fast stock, but some people still swear by them because they have a higher flowing manifold, and OBD1 is more easily tuned for FI and other mods than obd2.

in 1996 they started with the 3.2l engine and the shorter gears, 3.23 i think vs. 3.15. The 3.2 is OBD2, and has more torque. This car was the same from 96-99, but the sedans were only made in 97 and 98.

with EVERY car after 1995 being OBD2, more people are tuning them every day. Someone over at bimmerforums made 517rwhp on a custom tuned obd2 turbo system on the 3.2L engine.

Considering the mods i'm betting the torque is close to that of an e46 m3. The e46 has great hp up top but from what i understand the torque difference isn't that great... also i'd bet you're around 260hp if not more so lets make it 260hp<333hp<360whp

    nice car. i'm JLC325i on bf.c too...
