    :wtf:

What does the guy think is going to happen?

Could you imagine living your life with that kind of paranoia? It must take a lot of energy to be invisible.

I'll bet he listens to Alex Jones on shortwave radios.

I don't think I've read anyones own account of their "preparations" that sounds more paranoid than that.

Guess I'm the only one here that doesn't think he is a nut huh? Not that I take those precautions, but it's not like his actions are hurting anyone.

I don't think he's a nut for those precautions... it's the fact that he won't ship stuff to his house, pulls the van in the garage to unload, surfs the internet with "anominzer", etc...

I don't think he's a nut, he just has a different point of view. Look at how many people call us paranoid for carrying daily? I wouldn't live my life that way, but shit...he's preparing for the worst...literally, and doing a decent job of it.

Let's forget for a sec that a total TEOTWAWKI situation isn't probably, and give him the benefit of the doubt, that it happens....tomorrow....he's gone through the precautions that nobody knows what he has. Now if some guy has big boxes of mountain house food, and ammo being shipped to his house, yea the neighbors might not care now, but when they are starving and facing death they're going to start remembering those boxes, and at that point its worth a shot.

Now, I mean, I keep some canned food, and some water, and other shit on hand for natural disasters and shit. And I personally can't justify that amount of money that guy spends on that shit. But if he wants to, have at it man who am I to say he's wrong or a nut case.

If i had the free cash and my own more permanant house i'd have a FIFO inventory for foodstuffs and water. Some of the other stuff about the "big brother is watching" like all cash or postal money orders to pay for everything is a bit paranoid. The getting packages is sound, but i'm sure you could set something up with the UPS or other delivery person to make sure that it's signature only and that way they won't leave it at the house outside.

That is one thing I worry about with doing a lot of online or mail order kind of stuff, is having the boxes sit outside my door with ORM-D placed right on the outside.

Hopefully my neighbors will also remember the large boxes with 5.56/.223, 9mm, and 12guage printed on them being dropped off, and reconsider their plans.

Or not, giving you the chance to see them coming. If they remember the ammo they may try to hit you from behind or while you are sleeping.

I don't think this guy is a nut, it's his money and he can do what he wants with it. For several people I know, including myself, preps like this don't result from paranoia but the desire for a measure of security. Ammo for protection and food and water for >1 month allows people to ride out most scenarios. Bump that to 6 months-1 year and you are even more covered. If he loses his job, he won't have to worry about food.

I hope he has his house paid off...

Sounds a tad paranoid, but not overly unreasonable. If they want to keep their (legitimate, legal-sounding) stash a secret living in CA, sounds like a plan to me. Given the number of stories coming out of CA where a media sensation erupts over someone with a major arms cache that turns out to be a few "unregistered assault weapons," (no Class 3, AOW, or actual Destructive Device goodness), and more than a few boxes of ammo ... it's hardly surprising. I imagine they're also hedging against not only their neighbors turning on them during a SHTF situation, but also the local government doing so.

What bothers me the most about their "political actions" is that they are anonymous. Paying some lobbyist to advance a cause you don't associate yourself with is not as likely to be as effective as being out there putting a personable human face on your issue. Social isolation is about two-thirds of the way from being able to ban something outright...
