I went to the doctor today to see what exactly was wrong with my arm.

    From this thread - http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=2520037

So I get there and tell him my problem, basically it hurts when I use it and after extensive use the arm just goes dead, ring finger and pinky go numb(falling asleep feeling) and I can't rotate my arm or grip things. He nods his head while tapping and probing my arm and then prescribes me some naproxen(otc drug ex. aleve) and tells me to come back in 3-4 weeks if it's still bothering me.

What a fucking waste, meanwhile I haven't worked out in 3 weeks and my performance at work has been less than satisfactory.

You need to go to a sports medicine doctor. A regular MD has a pretty limited about of knowledge when it comes to sport injuries and healing.

I was told I would have to get a referral from my regular doctor, he told me there was barely anything wrong and that the inflammation would go away. How do I get a referral from someone that doesn't think I need one?

Say, "I want to go see the sports med doctor, give me a fucking referal you don't know shit". No but seriously, just insist that you see him and you'll get what you want.

Ulnar Neuropathy at the Guyon's canal. See a sports med doctor. It's also known as cubital tunnel.
