    MacNeil's Lighthouse below the Seal Island Bridge. Built in 1884, and abandoned in 1961 when the Seal Island Bridge was officially opened. It's now privately owned,
    and in mid-restoration, but some bastards smashed the windows out of it, and burned something behind it.[IMG]

    Old ferry dock in Black Rock, that used to cross to New Campbellton. It was virtually identical to the one between Ross Ferry and Big Harbour. Both ferries were
    abandoned when the seal Island Bridge was opened in 1961,

    A sluiceway from the lake atop Kelly's Mountain, about 1/2 km in on the Englishtown road. The gentleman building a house beside it, told me that last week,
    after the massive rains, that the water was 1/2 the height of the sluice, and was completely clearing the rocks below. He said it was unbelievable.

    some nice shots, the sky seems a bit washed out and boring though. Are you using polariser yet?

    I think he means like 1 6 7 9. They're either crops or pano shots.

    I like your photos. For the most part, you have a good sense of composition. You might want to look into getting a color enhancing filter for some of those waterfall/landscape shots though. It could really brighten up the colors in your photos, but a little bit of post-processing work in Photoshop, playing with saturation and brightness/contrast curves could do just about the same thing.

    in photoshop,

    Image -> Adjustments -> Levels
    You'll have to play with this or search the web on a tutorial. I'm much better at showing what to do than describing.

    Image -> Adjustments -> Curves
    on the diagonal line, make 3 points, one in the middle of the line. Pull them around until the brightness and contrast look like it does in real life, or whatever effect you're going for.

    Image -> Adjustments -> Saturation
    Since this is a landscape shot, you want to bring out the blue & gold tones more than anything. I selected the color from the dropdown, and adjusted it until I liked it. Don't oversaturate your photos, though. It'll make them look cartoonish and unrealistic. You want to keep the image looking sharp and capturing.

    On that picture, it wasn't very sharp at all. I'd recommend next time that you bring a tripod, open up the lens, and increase the exposure time, to get more of a flowing image out of the water moving. I'm guessing that shot was handheld, since edges were a little blurred. I did a "smart sharpen" in PS's filters just to make the edges cut a little better.

    And the other guys are right, get a polarizing filter asap. Its the most valueable tool you can have for any reflective surface. In most (not all) photography, glare = bad.

    Hope that helps,

    Reverend Al
