Well, He knows I'm into computing and multimedia related stuff so he asked me. I'm going to the same college in september but I have no idea what theme they want. I going to use light colours but my dad said the guy would want it so that he can edit the page easily for updated news articles and such. I believe that would require a PHP system. I've only just started learning PHP, and don't know how to do this CMS stuff. Is there a free one on the net? My host offers one but I can only install it on websites on my host.

I'm also struck for ideas but im sure ill find one thanks.

oh by the way, installation and editing and such is a breeze on those. Just be sure you have a mysql database because i think a lot of those require one.

For a client that wants a website that is easily editable, I'd suggest using a CMS. Unless you have special needs out of the website that requires custom programming, I don't think you'll have any trouble implementing a CMS... as most of them just require limited knowledge of PHP and a rough understanding of the CMS.

I highly suggest Drupal. Very customizable. Solid framework. Just about everything you need done can be accomplished with it.

Yep. As long as you implement the CMS correctly into your theme, he won't have any problems updating the website, at all. He'll even be able to create new pages with ease.
