Just got a surplus Sig P225 and a couple friends stayed the night and we shot today. I have a CZ-52 and the new P225. One of my friends thought my CZ-52 used 9mm and he loaded it and fired one round. The slide failed to go all the way forward by about a quarter inch after that. I took it apart and discovered that the outside rim of the bullet is still in the beginning of the barrel but most of the bullet made it through (ruining the bore in the process)

I dont see any other damage to the gun other than the barrel. I didnt know where I can find replacement barrels and for cheap, but with good bores. That gun of mine was in excellent shape with matching numbers when I got it and I only put a couple hundred rounds in it since I got it a couple years ago

He said hed pay for me to get a new CZ-52. I just figured I could save this gun as well

Not sure what you mean. Is part of the jacket of the bullet still stuck in the chamber or lodged in the rifling. To me it sounds like the barrel is still fine if you get the remains of the bullet out. Might be able to get it with a squib rod, maybe will have to go it with a chamber reamer.

If your friend is going to pay for it I would either take it to a smith to see how much he can clean the barrel out, or have a smith order you another barrel. From what I remember they do make a 9mm conversion barrel for that gun. That would be really cool and a bunch cheaper to shoot.

    That will come right out.

Just need the right tool for the job. Might be able to get it with a pick. Worst case a smith can go in there with a reamer.

As far as Ive seen since I got my P225, 9mm is usually 20 cents a round or more where as I still see the tokarev ammo in shotgun news for 10 cents a round if you buy 800 rounds. I still have a good majority of the last 800 round case I bought of it so would be a shame to have all that ammo and nothing to shoot it in

I don't follow prices on the C&R stuff, but I'd have to think given what they cost these days, it'd be just as sensible to get a whole new CZ52.

Goddamn. 7.62 Tok is like a whole quarter inch longer than 9mm, how do you not notice the extra space in the magazine?
