I have been cutting for about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks without any cheat days, and have lost 12 pounds. Up until about a week ago, I did not do any cardio while on the diet. For the past week I have been waking up at 6:30am and getting on the treadmill for about 20 minutes with medium to high intensity. I do not feel like I have lost any muscle whatsoever, and I am getting stronger.

Is 12 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks too much, or is it about right?

I lose 4lbs every weekend. But as unca jon says, mostly water.
So 4-5 lbs a week doesn't seem extreme to me for a near 200 lber.
    How's your strength holding up?

I am getting songer pretty fast. About a month ago my max was around 180, now I have myself up to 210. (I know i'm weak, but i'll get there!)

My problem before was just a poor workout routine and the fact that I almost never increased my weight. I was doing the same weight, but just a lot of reps. Now I am getting results much faster!

I bartend every Friday and Saturday from 9-3am. Sometimes I'll bring a bar or have a shake during my shift but aside from that I drink about a gallon during that time. On Saturdays I'm usually sleeping most of the day so don't really eat too much either. By sunday or monday, I'm down in weight.
