What are you guys using to protect your most precious of precious belongings safe? (Your junk or your Mac.)

I've got the 15" and this thing gets hot once in a while, nothing beyond the norm but when I'm on my bed I literally find myself starting to sweat because of the heat this thing produces.

Any cooling pads anyone can recommend?

i usually just prop a big pillow on my lap and if it gets real hot i will put a book or something under it so the fan's can vent it (very rare).

that portabook looks like a piece of crap  that would cramp up my wrist so badly because of the angle you would have to achieve to use the touch pad

I use a book between me and my laptop while im in bed. Works great. I never find a need for it when its just on my lap, but if its all covered up in my down comforter, it starts begging for air.

I was thinking of getting a cooling pad from Newegg, but if a book works just fine, I'm more than happy to just give that a shot.

I got smcfancontrol, but when I ran it it said that it hadn't yet been tested on my hardware, so I just dropped it.

a couple of the guys I work with bought these laptop tables at Walmart. They look like those little tables you use for eating breakfast in bed. Pretty nifty, but haven't been able to find one.

    something like this.

    That doesn't look very ergonomic.

I don't have this problem w/ my 17" unibody. My 15" unibody got hot, but looks like the cooling on the 17" is much better.

The ones my friends have looks more ergonomic and has height adjustments. It's definitely better than a pillow.

Be careful when using it in bed even on a pillow as it's easy to block the vents in the bottom of the screen and prevent proper cooling.

Does anyone know if the Aluminum bodied pros run cooler than the polycarb models? I'm comparing the specs on the new MB and the 13" MBP and I'm not seeing anything to justify the extra scrilla... but if aluminum keeps it from getting hotter than a foreman grill, the extra money might be worth the investment.

my newer unibody mbp runs much cooler than my 2008 non unibody mbp, not sure about the polycarb but i know advancements have certainly been made. not sure if that helps you at all.
