What do you mean by "will not recognize"? Also, OS? Version? Installed software?

"My car won't do that thing, any idea why?"

are you opening a php file on the web? If so, the server it's on isn't configured properly.

Did you download a php script and you're trying to open it from your hard drive? If so, it won't work. php needs to be parsed by an interpreter on a web server.

Did you save a webpage, and it has a .php extension? If so, rename it to .html instead of .php

Something else? You need to give more information.

    Thanks for my asshole replies...

anyway XP. I installed all the stuff. But when i make a Html with php and save it as php on my laptop it makes it an php file with the IE logo.

When i put it on my desktop with all SQL and php installed it makes it a notepad file..

    This is where im lost

    You should have expected those...

So where's your problem? Don't you want your php pages to be recognized as notepad files (or your editor of choice) so you can just double click and edit them? You don't need to run them as scripts unless they're on your server anyways, right?

Like I said, would you go into a car forum when your alternator isn't working and say "my car won't do that thing, what might be wrong with it?" Of course not, it's not enough information to answer the question.
