My computer fried on thursday... it would turn on but nothing would happen... nothing to the monitor and it wouldnt do a whole lot other then check the A and D drives... i got it up and running but when i go into CMOS and configure it and save it... when i restart it does it all over again... i have it running atm cause i just ignored the CMOS config and it is running... but this probably isnt to healthy for it...

Im thinking that the problem is the SMOS battery but i've never actually heard of that... or maybe its a CPU problem... any thoughts?

i think your problem lies between the keyboard and chair. if you replace that, i think it will work :big grin:

    or

change ur CMOS battery. (silver, about 15mm across, about 4mm thick)

What it says on startup is "CPU is unworkable or has been changed. Please recheck - CPU SOFT MENU"
