Good fight, your coach did great the first round but damn, the leg kicks got to him eventually but he has heart :eek3:

Man, Masato sure did change his style when he got into K-1 Max and especially when Buakaw came.

nail on the head. I think Buakaw (and maybe Souwer to an extent) made him change his style and game a bit.

and yeah, he did good, i think after Masato threw that elbow and cut him it started to go downhill quicker, and those leg kicks started flying more and more. I loved their boxing exchanges though. They fought very much like a thai fight with the allowing to go back and forth and trader flurry for flurry.

Yeah it was very much like a Muay Thai fight but with less knees, man, that fight reminds me of how old Masato is :o He's probably going to retire.

Is your coach retired and just teaching? or does he still compete?

Retired. I never asked why he stopped fighting. Could be a size thing, the 154lb fighters are WAY bigger now than they used to be and he isnt very big at all.
My guess though is he just loves coaching.

How tall is your coach? Masato is only like 5'9" and it looked like he had a few more inches. Really impressed with your coach and that was 8 years ago, I bet he's even more crisp now. That left upper cut is pretty damn sneaky. Why did he lean in sometimes? I've always been taught to never lean in. It looked like maybe he was expecting a hard push kick or something of that nature.

he's not tall at all. like maybe 5'7"
its ridiculous though, I dont see him training as much as he was a few years ago, but I remember everyone having to rotate holding pads for him cause he would leave welts on everyone's forearms from holding thai pads for him.
I'm genuinely in awe when I see him in the ring.

:eek3: Wow that's some serious power. That does suck he doesn't compete anymore, but it's better to quit while you're ahead lol.
