My car spews out blue crap....

    any suggestions why? I know its the air/fuel mixture thats fucking up but dont know what the reason is. any common fixes???
    Its a 1990 Mitsubishi Galant SOHC 2.0L.

    Yeah yeah its crap but its all I can afford!!!!!

    blue crap meaning blue smoke? blue jelly? blue atual crap?


    blue smoke is oil burning.... if its one of the others, then i'm afraid I can't help you...

    yeah its blue smoke....I know it means its burning oil.....are there any reasons for this? Anything I can possibly fix???

    yeah it sucks but i wanna try and keep it until i graduate....which is in december!!!!!! So any fixes may help.....lemme know.

    You can try installing new valves and guides, maybe the oil is leaking down them? Just rebuild the head.

    Your piston rings could be shot too, but that would be a tad bit more work, as it would involve removing the engine. Try a compression test before doing anything else and post your results here.

    There are all sorts of additives you can add to the oil that thinkens it up, and kind of gums up any places that are leaking. Not a very good fix, but if you are going to get rid of the car in December, it might help you make it till then. Look for Engine Honey, I think it's called. Oh, and blue smoke has nothing to do with your A/F ratio.

    Pull off the exhaust manifold and see if there is sludge or oil crap in the runners or in the head. Could be valve seals in the head or just worn piston rings.
