My daily cal intake is a mere FRACTION of what some bulkers post here, how the hell do you do it without getting fat? I was hoping that I would LOSE bf and gain muscle with this diet. Truth is I started with a little gut, but right now I have a nice spare tire growing on me and I do not want it to get any bigger. The good thing I'm looking HUGE compared to when I first started and I'm pushing weight I never thought I was capable of. I really don't want to rock the boat with everything going so well but I was looking forward to a nice set of abs, you know? Should I do some cardio or what?

    Started Oct 1 at 173lb. Nov 1 @ 182lb.

Here is a sample of my day. I eat every 2 hours, never a big meal. I always leave myself hungry and never get too full. I always eat healthy.

    10AM - Bowl of cereal w/ milk
    10:30AM - Protein shake 2 scoops w/ water
    1:00PM - Lunch (small meal)
3:00PM - can of tuna on whole wheat bread
    5:00PM - 2 boiled eggs, whole
    7:00PM - chicken cutlet
    8:00PM - 4 purecee on gym days
    9:00PM - dinner (small meal)
    12:00PM - Protein shake 2 scoops w/ water

I'm too lazy to do the math but its nowhere near the 4000-5000 cals that a person of my height/weight needs to bulk. Maybe my body is different.

The first week I started out eating EVERYTHING in sight, and then a handful of peanuts. Also 4 scoops in my protein shakes. I quickly realized that I was going a little overboard, and found myself with the diet that I posted.

I'll play with the cards that I was dealt, but what exactly do you mean I got the shit hand? I gained muscle like crazy, and all my numbers are steadily up.

I'm going to continue with this diet to see if my body adjusts, maybe until 185lb which at this rate will occur early next week :eek3:

Another response on the bad genes comment... A few years ago when I started going to the gym, I made massive gains on eating just a regular diet + 2 protein shakes. I chalked it up to being young and skinny, so it was easy to gain weight and strength. Maybe I was wrong for assuming that. Its possible that I don't need nearly as many cals as other people to bulk. Which sucks, cause eating every 2 hours is really fun :hs:

That shit happens to me. I gain fat like no ones business but also gain and retain a lot of muscle and strength. I dont worry about bulking/cutting phases. Just eat clean, push yourself in the gym, throw in a little cardio and you'll be ok.

Ever look at the 'Cut Diet' book?? They have layouts all the way up to 4000 cals a day ... maybe take a look at one of those??

    I guess so.
Specific details on my meals today:
    Lunch- sushi/sashimi
Dinner- 1 chicken cutlet with a side of ziti.

And "bowl of cereal" is always 1 cup of either Kelloggs Smart Start or Fibre One with milk

I'll definitely look at it, but you know I'm not cutting right? "Cut Diet" doesn't sound like it will help me bulk :)

Finally someone who identifies with me. I agree with you 99% about just keep going, but I plan to cut at some point and I don't want to make it any harder on myself when it happens. Whats your cardio like ?

I could write a book called "Bulk Diet" that outlined a 1800 calorie meal plan if you want...

Be more precise with how you measure and it should probably add up. If not then maybe you have to account for your measuring mistakes and aim for less cals.
